Fun for all the family
You will have noticed the television filling up with lambing and spring-farming programmes, well you too can get involved and come and help feed the lambs and other animals. They have a farm tour and children’s activities all based around farming and you can come and meet the farmers. They also have a children’s fun fair with rides and fairground stalls as well as their very first Easter-Egg hunt.
Including the Dog!
Ever wanted to try your trusted family pet out at agility? Well now’s your chance there will be dog agility for beginners too – bring ‘fido’ along and find the hidden obedient dog you know lurks underneath!
There will a full-blown farmers’ market celebrating the very best of Leicestershire-produce from hand-made pies to organic meats and award winning cheeses, as well as an abundance of home-produce from producers across Leicestershire.
On-Street Car-Boot Sale
If you want get involved and to buy and sell your wares then they are holding Leicestershire’s first ‘on-street car-boot’ guaranteed to be a great attraction without the risk of getting stuck in the mud!
Archæological Walks - Bringing Archæolgy to Life
You may not know but the area of Leicester known as Hamilton is based upon the deserted village of Old-Hamilton which was deserted during the black-death in the 17th Century. There will be archæological walks from former County Archæologist Peter Liddle MBE exploring the deserted village of Hamilton.
Live Music and Prosecco Bar
And to unwind they have Live Music provided by a local music charity accompanied with a celebration of the summer to come with their very own prosecco bar. Other refreshments will also be available including home-made scones and traditional cream-teas.
How to get there
Members of the public should park (free) at Hamilton Academy on Keyham Lane West where you will find a FREE 'park and ride' shuttle bus. The shuttle bus will run every 6 minutes between 10am - 2pm and 2:30pm - 5:30pm.
